This was my senior thesis at Ringling College. 

I designed a handmade book, which included common creatures of Sarasota, FL.

It was incredibly fun to research the creatures, and watch them in their natural environment.

The process included finding them in their natural habitat, watching the creature and making sketches and taking photographs for reference. Once all of that was gathered, for the woodcuts I made a "finished sketch" and transferred that to a birch wood plate, which I than carved, inked and ran through a etching press. Other processes included watercolor monotypes and laquer transfers.
